Nestled away on the banks of the River Liffey, Smock Alley Theatre is Dublin's oldest theatre having originally opened in 1662. Located on Exchange Street Lower, just beside Temple Bar in Dublin 2, 350 years after it was first built, this stunning venue has been carefully and lovingly restored is now once again a bustling hub of theatre, song, dance, art, creativity, weddings and corporate events.
Smock Alley Theatre is an incredibly unique and atmospheric venue to host a wide range of events from weddings and corporate events, to gala private dining, drinks receptions, product launches, fashion shows and press conferences. The venue has three distinct spaces to choose from, each suited to different types of events and guest numbers;
The largest of the spaces is our ornately decorated and expansive banquet hall, suitable for up to 250 guests standing / theatre style, or 180 for a seated private dinner. Ideally suited to weddings, Christmas parties, corporate events and drinks receptions, the recommended minimum guest numbers for this space is at least 30 guests.
Our main space offers a stunning historic backdrop for presentations, large meetings and press conferences for up to 178 guests seated (theatre style as you might imagine!). For smaller events the Boys School theatre offers an intimate and cosy setting surrounded by exposed brick walls, perfect for smaller events of up to 75 guests seated (theatre style).

Smock Alley Theatre has its own fully fitted kitchen and in-house chef to ensure your event runs smoothly with great menu options on food and drink to wow your guests.
