Season’s greetings! Looking for Christmas lunches & dinners in Dublin? We’ve picked out some fantastic restaurants in Dublin offering festive dining set menus and packages this year, perfect for groups of all different sizes. What better way to relax and unwind in the run up to Christmas than getting together with family, friends, work colleagues or clients for a meal and drinks. Please note that most restaurants in the city offer a ~2 hour seating window and early booking is highly advised as popular days such as Thursdays, Fridays & Saturdays fill up fast.
Located within the luxury 5 star Westin Dublin hotel on Westmoreland Street, Dublin 2, Morelands Grill offers the perfect setting to celebrate Christmas. This contemporary urban grill is exquisitely designed and offers a sumptuous dining experience to match with delicious seasonal food cooked on a Josper Grill. Morelands Grill take group bookings of 2 – 70 guests for semi-private dining or have the restaurant exclusively to yourself for groups of 100 guests. Festive lunches are priced €35pp (two course) or €40pp (three course), with dinner priced at €55pp (three course). If you fancy letting someone else doing all the hard work on Christmas day this year they offer lunch and dinner options on both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day itself for a little bit more. After dinner we recommend trying out some of the signature cocktails in Mint Bar, also located within the hotel.
Ely Wine Bar on Ely Place, just off St Stephen’s Green in Dublin 2 has recently been renovated and is one of our favourite restaurants in the city to soak up the Christmas atmosphere. This cosy wine bar and eatery is spread over two intimate floors. The first floor has a beautiful private room with a fire place and can accommodate up to 32 guests, with further tables and seating downstairs for semi-private dining and group dining. With a focus on serving the very best of seasonal Irish produce, using artisan producers and carefully chosen wines, Ely is ideal for smaller festive group get-togethers. Christmas lunches are priced at €38pp (three course), early Christmas dinner €42pp (three course) with a later dinner sitting priced at €58pp.
FIRE Restaurant on Dawson Street, Dublin 2 go all out with the festive decorations, offering a truly atmospheric Christmas dining experience with family and friends. Sustainable seasonal produce is the order of the day at this award winning venue with signature dishes such as Wood Fired Jumbo Tiger Prawns and their succulent Irish Hereford Prime Irish Steaks just some of the dishes to check out. Their Christmas lunch set menu is priced at €42.50pp (three course) and a Christmas set dinner menu for €60pp (three course) on the following dates; 28 – 30th November and 5th, 6th, 7th, 12th – 23rd December. Private dining is also available in their glassroom suites for up to 60 guests seated or 90 reception style and includes a private bar until 1.30am and use of the rooms until 2am. Early booking is highly advised.
Award wining restaurant of the year, SOLE Seafood & Grill on South William Street, Dublin 2 offers the ultimate festive dining experience in elegant decadent surroundings, with soul soothing, tasty food and drinks. Encapsulating the true taste of Ireland in the heart of this chic city centre location, they have a three course Christmas set lunch menu priced at €45pp (12pm – 15pm) and Christmas evening menu for €65pp (served from 5pm – 9.30pm). Luxury private dining also available in the stunning Captain’s Table room for 12 – 18 guests. Finally, they also have a New Years Eve menu from €45pp for the early sitting, and €75pp for the later sitting which includes a glass of prosecco.
Sophies stunning rooftop restaurant and bar is perched above the Dean hotel on Harcourt Street, Dublin 2. Offering panoramic views of the city this versatile venue is always a hugely popular spot for festive lunches, dinners and late night Christmas parties. Sophie’s group set lunch three course menu is priced at €39.50pp with the dinner menu priced at €55pp, also three course. Tasty options such as Wild Mushroom Risotto, Truffle Oil & Grated Parmesan to start and Pan-fried Hake, Sauté Potatoes with Lemon & Chives, Shredded Savoy Cabbage with Mussels & Clams for mains are included on both. Early booking strongly advised.
Bow Lane on Aungier Street, Dublin 2 offers a funky, lively setting to celebrate the festive period over a meal and drinks this Christmas. Renowned for their brunches and cocktails as well as putting on a great feed, Bow Lane’s three course set lunch and dinner menu is priced at €32pp and €46.90 respectively and is available from 27th November – 21st December. Delicious starters include crab tostadas with avocado, chipotle crema, radish and crispy pork belly with celeriac puree, black pudding crumbs, mustard aioli, and for mains the roast breast of chicken with chestnut stuffing, tarragon creamed wild mushrooms, celeriac mash & red wine jus are just some of the options that caught our eye.
Beef & Lobster on Dame Street, Dublin 2 is a popular, centrally located surf and turf style restaurant, offering the palette a little something different perhaps for the festive period. For groups of 10 or more guests they have a delicious Christmas set lunch menu priced at €35pp or group dinner menu at €55pp. Both menus are three course and include tasty options such as Lobster & Prawn Fritters, Fresh Irish Crab, Hereford Rib Eye to name but a few and of course something sweet to finish.
Sandymount Hotel in Dublin 4 are offering Christmas lunches and dinners in their stylish Whitty’s Restaurant. If you’re looking to escape the hustle & bustle of the city yet still get it on the Christmassy vibes at this hotel, the restaurant is great for semi-private dining for smaller groups or for fully private dining for up to 120 guests. Christmas lunch is priced at €34.95pp (three course), with dinner at €39.95pp (three course). Both options include mulled wine upon arrival to get you in the festive mood and if you fancy some drinks afterwards the Line Out Bar just upstairs is a great spot to continue the merriment.
1900 Restaurant on Harcourt Street, Dublin 2 serves up a mix of seasonal Irish produce, influenced by French cuisine. Offering great value right in the heart of the city, they have a two course lunch priced at €25pp or a three course lunch at €28.95pp served Monday – Friday, 12pm – 3pm. For Christmas dinner parties they have three course meal priced at €55pp, served from 6pm each evening up until the 21st December. Semi-private seating and reservations available for groups of 2 – 70 guests, with full exclusivity of the restaurant available for groups of up to 85 guests. Why not have a few night caps afterwards with drinks in the Georgian bar adjacent or The Black Door downstairs.
The Trinity City Hotel on Pearse Street in Dublin 2, has plenty of options this year for festive dining. They’re hosting Christmas lunches for which they have a two course (from €28pp) option or three course (from €32pp), with for a four course dinner from only €45pp. Minimum guest numbers of 10 applies to all festive lunch / dinner bookings. Private dining also available in their elegant Georgian Suites for 15 – 120 guests.
Christophe’s on Duck Lane in Smithfield (Dublin 7) is a lovely little brasserie and bar. Just opposite the Jameson Distillery, it’s very popular with local businesses for daytime and evening events. With a capacity to host small groups right up to larger sittings of 130 guests, their three course a la carte Christmas dinner menu is €45pp and includes mouth watering options such as duck a l’orange, ravioli of spinach & ricotta, traditional roast turkey & ham for mains and Jameson whisky Christmas cake for desert to name but a few of the options.
The Grayson on St Stephen’s Green is spread over four floors and set within a unique Georgian style building. With plenty of dining rooms, and being right in the heart of the city close to all the seasonal atmosphere, it’s sure to be as big a crowd please as ever this year for Christmas lunches and dinners. The Grayson’s set lunch menu is priced at €39.50pp (three course) with a dinner menu at €55pp (three course).
