J.R. Mahon’s: Parties, Events, Live Music & Great Food
Having opened it’s doors in April 2023, J.R. Mahon’s Pub & Brewery on Burgh Quay is one of Dublin’s newest and possibly one of Ireland’s largest pubs. This historic and iconic pub is spread over four floors with weekly live music, fantastic food, craft beer, cocktails and a lively atmosphere, making it the perfect spot for after work drinks, lunches & dinners or your next event, party or celebration.
Location:
Centrally located beside O’Connell Bridge, Dublin 2, in the heart of Dublin City and in the former premises of J.W. Sweetman’s and Messr Maguire’s, the venue has been extensively and lovingly reimagined whilst still retaining the charming character of the building itself and honouring the rich history of Dublin city.
With four unique floors to choose from as well as being part of the Mahon Group (who also own the well known Kennedy’s Bar on Westland Row) J.R Mahon’s offers an unrivalled hospitality experience and something to enjoy for all patrons who enter its doors.
Private Parties & Events:
The Corn Exchange Bar (top / third floor) can be hired exclusively for large groups of 50 – 120 guests with a mixture of standing & seating perfect for celebrations / parties and events (both corporate and social) all year round and late into the night. 70 can be fully seated dining events. This beautiful room offers magnificent views of the River Liffey with high ceilings and an ornate handcrafted wooden chandelier offering the perfect ambience day or night.
The Brewery Bar on the lower ground floor (basement) can also be hired privately, and includes its own private entrance, hosting up to 120 guests (min. 50). Its location in the building creates a welcoming snug / speakeasy vibe for all events hosted within it.
Set menus starting from only €25pp for two course and €30pp for three course dinners. Finger food platters are available for larger parties priced from €70 feeding 8 – 10 guests per platter.
Both spaces are ideal for corporate events, Christmas parties, company get togethers and special occasions (30ths, 40ths, engagement parties etc.).
Music is piped into the spaces from the main bar or you can plug in your own. Entertainment can also be customised to your requirements e..g live music / Irish dancers etc.
Groups (Semi-Private Reservations)
For smaller groups (under 20 guests) semi-private area / table reservations are of course possible also in The Crystal Bar (main bar ground floor) or The Library Bar (first floor). Please get in touch with the team below to check availability, pricing or to make a booking.
Weekly Live Music & Entertainment:
Start the weekend off right with regular live music most weeks on Thursday – Sunday from some of Ireland’s most in-demand musicians (traditional and contemporary) and Irish dancers appealing to both locals and international customers alike. The live music action takes place in the inviting Crystal Bar which features an exquisitely handcrafted and lit glass mosaic ceiling. Lunches, Dinners & After Work Drinks:
Serving up only the best in traditional Irish cuisine J.R. Mahon’s has quickly become one of the city’s most popular spots for lunches, dinners and after work drinks. We’d highly recommend the Hot & Spicy Chicken Wings and Rib Eye Steak with Jameson whiskey pepper sauce! Mahon’s also proudly and expertly brew their own signature craft beers available exclusively at the pub only. The cocktail menu is something to behold also taking inspiration from New York style cocktails and adding their own Irish twist.
Brewery:
JR Mahon’s sets itself apart from other pubs with their dedicated brewing program. Using locally sourced ingredients their skilled brewers meticulously craft a range of flavourful and distinctive beers, which help to capture the essence of Dublin. These beers are exclusively only available at the venue so be sure to try them out!
Sports Bar:
With huge screens dotted around the venue, offering uninterrupted views and plenty of seating on every floor J.R. Mahon’s is hugely popular with sports enthusiasts during the biggest sporting occasions. The owners are huge fans of rugby so this is no doubt the pub to enjoy and celebrate those match days in.
